What's it like to live in Accrington?

Is it an area on the up? Are the people friendly?

    I have lived here all my life and in my 50s now, Accrington was once a place where people could be trusted and people felt safe, having said that I suppose nearly everywhere now there are good and bad people of all ages, We have quite a few places for living the night up at weekends with the night clubs in town centre and plenty of bars for food and socialising but like everywhere you need to weigh up some of the bars, I say if you don't feel comfortable then don't stay. We have nice places to dine out and if you like driving we have some lovely countryside up in the Trough-a-Bowland, about an hours drive from town and the people are usually very friendly and one might find easy to get along with, then we have Whalley and Clitheroe, only 15mins drive away again people are good to befriend and I would just say matt, weigh any place up so wherever you decide to live I would not commit myself to announce that Accrington is on the up, as with every town city and county businesses are fighting to keep there heads above water, it's what you make it I'm sure you would get along fine with people for socialising or making new friends, I think most people in nation now weigh up the pros and cons of places and people not just Accrington, Hope this puts some insight of what Accrington has to offer you will never know if you don't try it, I would suggest a short stay though so you could at least see what you think and how you feel about it having said this have you decided where in Accrington you would like to stay? once again hope I have helped a little at least. katy195
