What are our rights if we move Before September?

We moved to Timperley in September and we hate the house, it's cold, the windows are old and my son has left as it's too far for work and sport. I feel isolated, nobody talks to anybody at all! my 15yr old hates coming home. If we want to move before our year is up what are our rights?

  • If you signed a six months then you should be able to vacate the property in March (check your contract). If you signed a 12 month contract then you are bound by it until it expires, it may be advisable to speak to your landlord or agent and try to negotiate an early release from the contract. You may find that they re-market the property and release you on the date that a new tenants contract begins subject to you covering the landlords letting fees. However, they do not have to grant this and could hold you to the original contract.
