    Basildon is quite big so I would say for being safe it depends where abouts! To be honest I wouldn't like to live in most places as I am a young girl on her own. Some places are fine but there is quite alot of crime around. I have lived in Laindon mostly which is the same. There are some parts that are great and others that are awful! There's quite alot to do, there's a big town centre, swimming pool, gyms, cinema, night clubs loads of take a ways and restuarants.

    We would suggest that you check out the local Tourism website & check the crime rates for the area. Do some research on the internet – it’s worth calling a few of the agents too to get some advice. Spend some time in the area that you are interested in too – try to get a feel for the place.
