  • Are you the owner of the property or the tenant? If you're the owner then you can check your land registry documents (deeds), they'll have the year built on them. If you're the tenant you can always ask the landlord to check the deeds for you. Otherwise, you can go to the land registry website and purchase a copy of the deeds for your property (or any property for that matter), they'll cost about £6 if I remember correctly.

  • If your property is similar to others on your street then your easiest bet is to ask a couple of longer standing neighbours - they often have a good idea. The previous answer is great for something that more recent but my current and last homes are quite old & the Land Registry & deed details got it way of! My last house was registered around 1900-1910, but when some rendering was removed a house builders sign was uncovered & the house was built in 1812. Similarly my current home (a barn conversion) was entered as around 1900, but some digging around in the local library found a map with it clearly marked in 1850 with suggestions it may be older still. Good luck.

  • Hi, I grew up in that area and can remember the houses being built when I was at Junior School so at a guess, I'd say they were built around 1985.
