What's it like to live in Bath?
Are the people friendly? What are the local amenities like?

Bath is a world class city set on a bend in the river - a world heritage site for its Georgian architecture like The Royal Crescent, decent schools, a leisure centre, famous rugby club, a good quality university up on the hills, the lovely Bath Abbey, Roman Baths, a fabulous, compact town centre for shops and bars including a new redevelopment of the old 60s bit at the bottom of town. It's also on a fast train to London - hour and a half to Paddington. One downside is that the place is thronged with tourists, especially in summer - another is that property prices reflect how nice it is!

I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website for that area which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.

So few real Bathonions around these days, full of tourists in summer, far too many pushing and shoving and commuters which makes the place a little souless. Owing property there is a plus though as prices are always on the up even in recession.
