What's it like to live in Belfast?

What kind of people live around here? Is there much greenery in the area?

  • I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are, this will also give you a guide to house prices and movement of the market within the area. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area.

  • I find Belfast a dirty, deprived, dangerous place to live. There are bunches of young hooligans who are a constant nuisance, but one that the police seem to do nothing about. You absolutely must have a car as the public transport system is almost non-existent. The buses go from the city centre and back meaning that you that you often have to use several buses to travel from one area to another. This creates a lot of traffic and congestion. The property available to rent is of a poor standard – small boxes with thin walls without any insulation, and the agents letting them are greedy and seemingly invent more funny fees for nothing. In conclusion I wouldn't recommend moving here. I will be leaving when my son finishes school in 2 years.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
