How can I find out when my house was built?

Hi, I'm looking to find out when my house was built? I would also like to know if I have lost the deed for my house where can I get hold of another one?

  • Land registry or registry of deeds will have a copy. It is also possible that the original mortgage company may have them, people often did not pay off their mortgage completely but left a a nominal amount of money owing usually between £1 - £5. This saves on the cost of paying for secure storage and maintains a relationship with that lender in the event that you may wish to borrow more money in the future,
