  • I've lived in Bewdley since November 2007. It's a beautiful town, with stunning countryside all around, including the Wyre Forest and the Severn Valley. The people are generally very friendly and welcoming. The town centre has a number of independent shops and local businesses, offering a welcome change from the usual chainstores. There is also the newly refurbished Bewdley museum, which offers a number of attractions, including resident artists. Bewdley is a creative town, and houses a number of local artists, who once a year hold an 'open studio' weekend to show their work. There are a number of pubs and restaurants, catering for all tastes. The 'chain' pubs get extremely busy during the weekend, and are usually full of young people visiting from surrounding towns - it can get a little boisterous. For those wanting a quieter night, there are more traditional pubs nearby. During summer months, the town is a tourist attraction, and gets very crowded - it's sometimes best to avoid town altogether on bank holidays. Traffic congestion is also a problem, especially after the roadworks which have been active since 2007, again, avoid the town centre if possible during these. In spite of all of this, I love living in Bewdley, and hope to stay here for many years.

  • I was born in Bewdley and lived there or nearby until I was 33. Yes it's overrun with tourists in the summer and quiet in the winter but I loved it and still do! I thoroughly look forward to our visits (we live in Weston-super-Mare now) and deep in my heart would still like to live in Bewdley. There are lovely schools with good results here too though not too much for the youngsters to do - though there was a youth club when I was a kid which kept me and my sisters busy. It has a fire station, library, doctors, shops, chemists, chinese, indian, fish & chip shop, loads of pubs and cafes, fantastic sweet shop (Teddy Grays), tourist information centre, West Midlands Safari Park to name but a few. Much nicer to live in Bewdley than Kidderminster or Stourport-on-Severn nearby!

  • I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
