What's it like living in Bideford?

We love the north devon coast and are looking for a more peaceful way of life. We have a seven year old daughter who loves the sea and belly boarding etc, but are the schools good, is the lifestyle as lovely as it seems and are the people friendly to newcomers?

  • Bideford is very lovely, I don't know about schools, but the lifestyle is very laid back and free and easy. Most people are friendly, yes. You still get the odd idiots, but then I would imagine it is the same where ever you go. I would highly recommend Bideford.

  • I am the local expert agent covering North Devon for matchproperty(Just launched this week). Bideford is indeed a great place to live and the surrounding area also. Obviously some areas are better than others but in general schools healthcare and services are very good. Lifestyle is great and a really good place to raise children, I have two boys. You can acces everything from here, coastal areas, Exmoor and the countryside and Exeter city is less than an hour away. Please let me know if you are interested in any particualr areas or properties and I will do my best to help. Thanks

  • Hi We are in the same position, a six year old girl who loves the sea/bodyboarding. Just wondered if you made the move and how its going. Has anyone any advice for a family thinking of moving to the Bideford area. Thanks
