In 1934 as a young boy my parents lived at 117 Summer Road, at that time a factory with a house at the top of the driveway, has that factory been demolished?

  • Possibly. I'm not entirely sure of the location but there used to be some tower blocks in the area which have been demolished. They might have been where the factory originally was or you may be referring to the low level buildings at the end of the road but they look newer than 1934. You can see an oblique aerial view here: http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property/16-summer-road/edgbaston/birmingham/b15-2bp/428889 and a more recent overhead aerial view showing the area vacated by the tower blocks: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=117+Summer+Road+b15&ie=UTF8&ll=52.466593,-1.907544&spn=0.003088,0.005021&t=h&z=18&iwloc=A
