What are the local amenities like? Is it an area on the up?

Blackwood is a thriving "valleys" town with good facilities. One of it's strengths is accessability and commutability to Cardiff, Newport, M4, Heads of Valleys and M5. Easy road access and buses/trains to Newport, Cardiff from local stations. Good hotels, restaurants and pubs. Easy 30-40 minute drive to Coast (Cardiff Airport/Barry Island) or Black Mountains/Abergavenny/Brecon Beacons or Severn Bridge.
