Port Solent house purchse
I am possibly looking at purchasing a house in Port Solent, but have noticed that there are lots for sale in this area, many of which have been on the market for a very long time. Does anyone know of anything happening in the area or reasions as to why very little is moving in the area

Hi Brian4559, While I can't answer as to whether there is a specific reason for houses in this particular being on the market for a long time, perhaps another member of our community will be able to do so if they know the area better. What I can tell you though is that houses in general have been staying on the market for far longer in the past few years than they ever used to. Low demand for properties, and the fact that there are fewer people who can afford the deposit that would bring them onto the housing ladder have meant that there are houses that would previously have sold in a matter of months that can now sit for as long as two years without finding a buyer. It could simply be therefore that this area is suffering from the same sort of problems that have affected the UK as a whole, with poor demand driven by a lack of confidence, but if so, this will pick up in the next couple of years. Thanks, Scott
