What's it like to live in Cambridge?
Are the people friendly? What are the pros and cons of living here?

I lived in Coton just west of Cambridge for about 10 years and cycled into work every day. I loved it when I was in my early twenties but since getting married and having a baby we needed to be closer to civilization so we're trying to move to Ely. Very nice people in Cambridge. Very low crime (I had a quick-release bike wheel stolen once). Decent variety of restaurants and shops. The west is much nicer than the east.

Cambridge is a fantastic city to live in. Positives are all the open spaces, restaurants, pubs/clubs, theatres and cultural stuff and the excellent shopping facilities. There are some great schools too. The negatives are limited to peak time congestion, expensive and insufficient parking and that some of the more affordable residential areas seem so far out you might as well live in an outlying village. In general, people are friendly but there's a massive amount of tourism obviously so you have to put up with groups of tourists wandering around aimlessly. It's far and away the best place we've ever lived.
