Buying a repossession.

How do I know if an estate agent has put my offer forward to the mortgage property - I have my doubts if my offer has been put forward - how can I find out?

  • Your agent, in fact any agent has an obligation under the estate agency agent to put all offers forward. You should receive a record of your offer in writing and should request a copy from the agent if you dont receive one within 24 hours. The mere mention of the words ‘Estate Agency Act’ should ensure all of your offers are taken seriously and dealt with accordingly.

  • All estate agents are legally obliged to forward all offers to the vendor. They must also confirm every offer to vendor and potential purchaser in writing and keep a written record in the office.
