Maintenance cost of House

Subject to age and condition etc, what is the likely cost of maintaining a house in the North-West. Is 1% of its value a good estimate or starting point. I'm thinking generally of properties built no earlier than 1945 and having up to 3 bedrooms.

  • Hey! Not sure as a % as you don't mention a price but an average including putting something by for a redecorate externally say every 4 years, budget approx £700 per year. Regards, Jonathan Rolande :-)

  • I think a realistic price range would be anyhing up to £300,000 and most likely terraced or semi-detached. Then an estmate may be more reliable. To include repairs to the roof and inside/outside walls.
