Should we upsize in the current climate? We do not need a mortgage.
We have the opportunity to part exchange to a good house in the area we would like. Unfortunately the new house has not been cared for and would need a steam-clean and complete re-decoration before we could move in, which in normal times would be off-putting, however, we see this as pretty well our only chance to move at the moment as the market is so depressed in our area. Advice please, anyone?

Personally, I think it's a great time to move with plenty of deals out there to be had. Purchasing in a depressed market can be difficult but at the same time, there are deals to be had too.

It is a great time to up-size, prices have fallen and the percentage drop on a larger or more expensive property should mean it is at a much more attractive price.
