Investors returning to the market
We are seeing a significant increase in both professional and occasional investors buying property in our area. Are you seeing the same and what has triggered this?

Yes the same here in Brighton, Maybe its because of the better expected growth in the economy? What properties do you find they are interested in? Currently here, it seems more expensive properties are in demand, though this would not reflex the latest government budget intentions!

I believe bricks & mortar will always be a very sound mid to long term investment. There is more positive press about price rises so a lot of investment buyers we are dealing with perceive now is the bottom of the market. We have also seen a huge increase in demand from tenants.

I think they are but as with any market this is price reflective. Clearly changes in the market have meant that there are better value opportunities available for asset rich investors than for a long time. If a return of 8-10% is offered we are experiencing very strong demand. Commercially however things are still tough, caused mainly by a lack of lending in the market place.
