It really depends whereabouts, the landscape and indeed the people vary greatly from patch to patch....

Very varied area, some places are really nice with countryside views, while other places are very industrial. Kind of just feels like any small town/city, but with the countryside all around you. Great thing aout deeside is that it much cheaper than living in Chester, and not just the house prices, water rates and council rate are much lower.

Hawarden probably the best area especially if you have kids. Excellent public transport - 4-6 buses an hour to Chester/Mold, railway line - hourly to Liverpool and Wrexham and also London and Holyhead, Manchester etc by changing at Shotton. By car it's 45 minutes to Manchester and Liverpool (and both airports). 1 hour and you can be on the mountains in Snowdonia, lakes, rivers and an hour to really beautiful beaches like Newborough Warren on Anglesey. Good schools too - Ewloe Green and Hawarden Infants are excellent as is Hawarden High School. However you pay for all this in property price - nearby in Buckley you can knock 50,000 to 100,000 off the price of a similair house
