I don't know this area myself but this web site will give you useful info on scholls and crime rates etc

It depends which part! the pub can be a little noisy though. Sandy lane itself can get a little busy but some of the side roads are much quieter and very nice, I have family who live in a road off Sandy Lane, although they've only recently moved there - aside from the pub noise they're quite happy! It's historically not the most popular of roads, so don't pay over-the-odds to live there..
