Morningside is a popular and upper class area of Edinburgh, but anywhere within 1 mile of the City Centre is popular for people in their mid to late 20s. There are several universities in Edinburgh which are popular for letting to students, and two main hospitals.

I would agree with the Hills2011, near the two hospitals, uni's, or city centre is best. You can also get a good deal in Centre's out of the City in East or Mid Lothian
