How long on average do sellers wait before accepting an offer?

If say there is high interest in a property immediately.

  • If there were at lot of interest as soon as the property was advertised then I would want to give time for all those initially interested to view and make an offer. So at least 10 days from when a property was first advertised, probably nearer three weeks. If there were less interest and no competing offers forthcoming then there is less reason to delay.

  • Hi, There are a lot of different factors that could affect this. Firstly if the owner of the property is a couple, it may be the case they have to take time to speak to each other and think it over. It will also depend on the circumstances of the offer as well such as whether it is a cash purchase or mortgage as well as if there is any other properties involved in the chain and then of course any competing offers as well. But again its all up to the owner of the property however the estate agent who is selling the property should maintain contact on a regular basis during this period. We hope this helps.
