Would fitting a shower and toilet upstairs add to the value of my house?

How much would fitting a shower and toilet add to the value of my house? Making one room en-suite. My post code is G21 1XJ.

  • Hi weezara, Adding a bathroom to a home can be a great way to add value, especially if it only has one at the moment as a second bathroom is seen as being one of the main things that many buyers will be looking for. According to an article in the Telegraph from Phil Spencer, the addition of a bathroom can add up to three per cent to the value of your house overall. There are some things you need to consider as well though, such as what will make way for this new addition. For example, if you take away a decent sized bedroom to replace it with a bathroom, then the added value may not be as significant to certain buyers. Many thanks, Scott
