What's it like to live in Glossop?
Is it an area on the up?
What are the local amenities like?

Generally it's pretty decent town. Life is at a slower pace than the nearby Manchester, as can be seen by the various civic activities, such as The Victorian Weekend at the end of August. Having a car could be important dependant on your lifestyle.
Transport links by rail are excellent but bus services struggle coping with the ever clogged up roads towards Manchester each day. Most public amenities and facilities are offered such as decent schools, a public swimming bath and good parks such as Manor Park. Although night life is found in "normal" type pubs and a nightclub most people would head off elsewhere if they want a late night at the weekend.
In summary I'd say that the town is mainly an old style sort of traditional place where some below average crime level does exist but the overall feel for the place is that it is a safe place to bring up families.

I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.

We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page.
We hope this helps.
