How can I find the year my property was built?

If you contact your local estate agent they should have the knowledge to give you an idea. Other than that there is no obvious way of knowing unless you have some experience in building design and construction. If you have a photo of your house I can hazard a guess for you! but try your local agent first.

Looking on property portals.. they look the classic mid 1970's style

The year the property was first sold will be on the Conveyance. It should also be on the Land Registry Title, available from the Land Registry where title deeds of all properties are held.
