Where is the cheapest housing in the UK (Mainland only)?

  • I recall there begins some houses sold for just £1 near Liverpool etc. as they had been derelict the clause being you had to do it up and live in it! More northern properties seem to be cheaper normally though.

  • Hi, On a UK basis, some of the cheapest homes on a general basis are located in three key areas. These are Scotland, Wales and the south-east. For single homes, though, some of the best homes in terms of low price can be found in areas the likes of Middlesbrough and Liverpool, where there have been some exceptionally low prices for areas that are in need of regeneration or have sat empty for a number of years.
