Would you recommend the part rent, part buy scheme to a 1st time couple when one is full time worker and the other a student?

Most definitely yes. There are great schemes available to help people get on the property ladder who may have not got a big enough deposit to qualify for a mortgage. Be aware their is more than one scheme to consider and they all have slightly different terms etc so make sure you do your homework. My friend has recently moved into a property on this scheme and said it was brilliant, quick and easy so i would definatley say yes.
