What year was my house built?

Doesn't have to be exact, just within a decade, thanks.

  • Look on your local council website at the public access planning and see if there is a record on there. If this is an older house (ie more than 20 years or so) you should speak to a surveyor. Give a local one a call and they will probably be able to give you an approximate age.

  • If this is one of the Unity built houses, most were constructed (of the 19000 approx built) between 1953 and 1955.

  • Concrete frame with vertically jointed panels. This type of construction has been designated as defective under the Housing Acts, although, they are less problematic than many PRC type houses. Can be prone to significant condensation issues, however.
