Assume you mean stamp duty. There is no such thing as purchase tax, it was replaced by VAT in 1973. There is no VAT on houses. For stamp duty rates, see the link

The above answer is correct. Stamp duty is the liability for taxation on property purchases. Property below £125,000 is exempt but above that value it ranges from 1-4% of the puchase price depending on value.
