Moving to Huddersfield, best areas?
Am looking to move to Huddersfield but want a nice area with low crime rates and not over ridden by youths. Norfolk Avenue (HD2) look ok ... is the commute to motorway ok and area ok?

General area is ok. Fairly quiet on a night. The commute to motorway is ok, although Cooper Bridge Road does clog up at busy times, M62 to Bradford gets busy 6 am onwards. I have lived in Bradley for 4 years and have had no trouble.

The area previously suffered from a very poor reputation but has been comprehensively redeveloped. It appears to have improved significantly but I am not sure whether any of those who previously made it an unpleasant area in which to live are still resident. More generally, the better areas of Huddersfield are out of town to the south and west. However these are the least convenient for the M62. More convenient and within town itself but potentially with a trade-off in crime rate, the better areas are (in roughly descending order) Fixby, Edgerton, Gledholt, Oakes/Quarmby, and parts of Marsh, Lindley, Longwood, Almondbury and Birkby.
