Is New Meridian Village, Manston Road, Kent a good area to live in?

Will there be an airport in Ramsgate/ New Meridian Village, Manston Road, Kent, if so will house prices go up or down? Also what is the cheapest way to travel from Ramsgate to Clapham Junction?

  • The new build estate backs onto one of Thanets most notorious blackspots - The Newington Estate. Above average crime, unemployment and teenage preganancy in this area, the Newington Estate has its fair share of 'colourful' characters! The block of flats, belonging to the social housing sector, near the entrance of the Village provides all the tenants a clear view of Meridian 'Village' properties and which are the more 'favorable' homes to visit. The airport at Manston is very good and is striving to acheive international flight routes having successfully gained UK routes to Scotland and the Channel Islands. Unfortunately there seems to be a resistance group living under or near the flight paths- they frequently put up all sorts of fights to stop increased air traffic. this has the obvious negative effect of promoting the Isle as a main hub for air commuters and freight alike. Road networks around the area are severely congested at several times of the day. this is mainly due to inept planners and council leaders not updating the road infrastructure when Westwood Cross shopping centre was opened. the main road leading down from Manston Raod to Meridian Village is effectively caught up in a very busy 'rat run' to Ramsgate/ Margate / Braodstairs et al. Road imporvements up to the twin roundabouts (Lord of the Manor) 1 mile from Meridian will see a large influx of traffic becoming snarled up even more when it leaves the dual carriageway to the single lane road network. around Thanet. Enough of the blackness though, at least we have the 'High Speed' link from ramsgate to St Pancras in London....shame the rail network infrastructure does not comform to High Speed requirements until trains depart Ashford, still it shaves a very healthy 35-40 mins off the laborious journey if you went by 'classic' rail. Hope this helps.......................

  • Hi, I've lived in Ramsgate an surrounding area for many years but have since moved out of Ramsgate, the area you are asking about is on the edge of Newington housing estate...........look it up ......usually in the local news re crime.......a bit of a hot spot...however if you only venture to main shopping ctr, Westwood Cross ok then, Ramsgte isn't on the up,as in the town center and unemployment is high, train to Victoria prob best travel.....hope that helps,Manston flights maybe Manchester and seasonal flights to Europe you can check online, hope info helps.
