I am interested in purchasing a strip of land from my neighbour, approx 8 feet wide by 50 feet long. I would like a guide price.
An indicative price would be very helpful.

Ask yourself what you are going to do with the strip of land. if you aim to build a garage and create parking for two cars how much will this increase the value of your home? Aim to make a sensible profit on the expenditure and the building costs and you will arrive at a purchase price that's fair to your neighbour.

Actually you may wish to consider what your neighbour could do with the land, certainly that will form part of their thinking when they formulate a price. If the land can be used to extend property then it may be worth more than land that can only be used for a garden. In reality it is worth what your neighbour wants for it and what you are prepared to pay. For worthless non-building land I would be looking at £2k to £5k plus costs.
