  • Hi colinfriends, Yes, there is truth in the fact that solar panels can have an effect on the long-term value of a property when it comes to selling. Electricity bills are always on the rise at the moment, which means that anything which will reduce them is a bonus. However, it's also important to remember that panels have a set lifetime, and after 25 years they need to be replaced, so if you were adding them to the property purely for selling purposes, this might be a great bonus for any buyer. If you are planning to live there for a number of years more and then move on, though, you might see less favourable increases as the panels get closer to the end of their functional life. Many thanks, Scott
