What's it like to live in Hackney Wick?
Are the people friendly? Is it a safe area?

Hello, I recently moved across Victoria Park to Hackney Wick. I love the area around the park itself, many nice pubs, restaurants...all just so diverse and vibrant....and the park, the canal, just between Stratford, Canary Wharf and Angel so what else do you need. Many supermarkets and markets for the shopping, many bus routes taking you all way through. Great place for cycling! True that you need to have time on your hand to get into central London something between 30 mins and 1hr. But I find people more helpful and open here then in Central London and if they steal your bike - bad luck I guess, but they steal them in Chelsea too lol!! The most important thing is that you are in the area that is just in transition, probably the biggest than any part of London, why not to be part of it!? I love it.
