What's it like to live in Herne Hill?

How does it compare to the areas around? What are the local amenities like?

  • I love Herne Hill. It's a corner of London not many people know and so much the better. Lovely London Plane tree lined streets, wide open spaces and some good cafes and local shops. Not being a parent I can't vouch for schools but I hear there are some good non private ones. Transport is really good for non-tube area: links from Herne Hill station into Victoria and Blackfriars/Farringdon/St Pancras and links into London Bridge from North Dulwich station, with good onward links esp via the Jubilee line. I've recently moved away (out of London - to buy a house rather than a flat) after living there more than a decade but if I ever need to move back for work it will be to Herne Hill.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
