What's it like to live in Rotherhithe?

Is it an area on the up? What are the pros and cons of living here?

  • I live right behind Rotherhithe station, just by the river. The area is beautiful and quiet. There are not that many shops around, but a 24 hr Tesco, Odeon Cinema, Bowling, Surrey Quays shopping centre are all just a few minute walk away. Travelling to central London is very quick and easy. Canada Water tube station (Jubilee line) is only a 5-10 min walk where you can jump on the tube: London Bridge only 2 stops = 5min, Waterloo 4 stops = 10min away, Canary Wharf 1 stop = 2 min away. There are also plenty of buses going towards Russel Sq., Victoria Stn, Waterloo, Greenwich, Lewisham, etc. Being so close to the river gives a great opportunity to go for a jog in a beautiful setting. I love living there, have been living in the area for about 4 years now and wouldn't move.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
