I've lived in Woodside Park for 7 years now, and like it a lot - its has a lot to offer. Even though it is on the outskirts of London, it is easy to commute by tube, train, M25 and North Circular are nearby, but but we have many parks and tree lined streets.
It is generally very safe and quiet in the residential areas away from the high street. A very mixed community of different cultures - Jewish, Pakistani, Bulgarian, Greek, Japanese and many others. Also many families, kids, older people so every fits in.
The high street is busy and can get congested with traffic on a Saturday, but its good to have a popular street to attract shops - Sainsburys, Waitrose, Starbucks, Cafe republic, McDonalds, Boots, Smiths, are all there as well as some very good local shops and restaurants. We could do with some nicer pubs since one closed, but Tally ho and others are cozy locals.
Other facilities include arts centre, David Lloyd sports centre, good schools clubs etc.
Nearby is Totteridge, East Finchley, West FInchley, Highgate and Hampstead which offer more options for eating and drinking which are nearby but not close enough to dominate.
