Is it dangerous to buy a non standard construction house? do you have one and how does it work for you?

Am thinking of buying a non standard construction house (steel and concrete) asbestos may be involved, so am now very worried!

  • It all depends if you can get a mortgage on them. Even though you might need one, most people do and you might need to sell one day. Ask the agent to prove to you how many he or she has sold with a mortgage. If they can't .. walk away. Also what Pure said was spot on. Ring up a Chartered Surveyor in the area and ask the question if the house is mortgageable
