Are these warning signs against a property?

Looking to find out if these are warning signs that mean I should not buy my 1 bed property; no one seems to know who the freeholder is, a low price for the very good area, the person who pays buildings insurance never asks the leaseholders to pay? This property is my family's insurance for later on so don't want to be making a huge mistake that would hurt us later on.

  • Hey Susie. An absent landlord can be a problem especially if you or your future buyer are looking to extend the lease. However, you say it's cheap so don't just give up! Maybe speak to neighbours and see what they think of the situation - it may be that you can buy the freehold for example. But if in doubt, don't do it. Your concerns will be shared by your eventual buyer making future resale difficult. Regards, Jonathan Rolande :-)
