Should all homes on the same road have the same council tax banding?

  • Not necessarily. The council tax band is based on the 1991 value, if they were not the same then they may not be in the same band. If the property is altered then it is not revalued until it is sold so similarly altered properties may not have all been revalued.

  • It depends on how many bedrooms the house has. If one house has 1 bedroom and another has 3, the one with 3 bedrooms will be more expensive.
