How to find out if a property is ex council
Looking at buying a property (flat) in a block, how can I find out if it is ex council property?

Check your local authority or speak to the land registry who can run a search for you for around £4-£8.

Hi, we are a Croydon based estate agency. 9 times out of 10, the freehold to the block will still be owned by Croydon Council. Just ask the estate agent or property owner who the freeholder is

You can look on the land registry which would show who the original owner was.
