  • Hi stucker, Applying for mortgages in France is actually a lot easier than you would think, largely thanks to the number of brokers based in the UK who will help you work through this, largely because of the popularity that the weak euro has caused for British buyers. To see a breakdown of what you will need to pay, you can visit any number of sites that deal with this issue - for example the link below. This will talk you through all of the ins and outs of buying in France. You will see here that the key issues surrounding French mortgages come in the fact that the repayment periods are shorter, and must finish before you retire. In terms of your deposit, you will typically need to put ten per cent forward, so for the property you specify, you would need £6,000 to £8,000. Many thanks, Scott
