Maidenhead has great schools, particularly Furze Platt (Co-ed) and Newlands (Girls). If you are looking for the best school in the country there are many within commutable distance (Marlow, Reading and High Wycombe). For Entertainment, there are many good pubs around, the best restaurants (e.g. Fat Duck, Bray) and then of course Maidenhead is near London (approx 20 mins during peak hours by train to Paddington). Good local theatres can be found in High Wycombe, Windsor, Reading and Bracknell. The Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe is particularly good, though the car park is very tight. The town centre is in need of some work, but there is finally a plan in place and as the economy picks up Maidenhead is ripe for investment. This along with Maidenhead being the Crossrail terminus could have a positive impact on house prices. Sorry for the late reply, hope it helps someone!
