Is Barming, in Maidstone a good area to buy in?

Hi, I saw a house near Maidstone Hospital in Barming. Mainly because of the good schools and countryside feel.Is it a good area to buy in? Also I would have to travel into London for work, is it worth the travel?

  • Hi SunnyDay11, Maidstone in general is a very nice area to live in, largely due, as you say, to the fact that it is served by a rather nice countryside feel and has good schools within the area. What is also often an important consideration for buyers when they are looking for places to live is the crime rate, and if you are in Barming and Maidstone you will find a very low crime rate. It is far below that seen in Kent as a whole, and has been dropping considerably to leave it below the national average, which makes it a great place to live. In terms of travelling to your work in London, the train station is only one mile from the hospital, and it runs hourly services to London Victoria every day. Thanks, Scott

  • Thanks Scott, it's a wonderful area, as soon a we saw it I fell in love with it, but the travel time and cost of travel is hindering our decision. lots to think about.... :)
