Chain or multi house sale situation
Can you tell me what the limit would be for the amount of houses associated in a Chain or multi house sale situation and what time frame if any is there for this type of sale?

The chain can be from one to about seven properties. I have known eight properties but that is really pushing it. The Bank system can be so slow especially on a Friday at the end of the month. If you are going from Nat West to a Abbey if that is involved then probably four at the most! If you can avoid and do Branch to Branch of any Bank then it can be done as long as the first lot of money is in the system on the day before and released at 9.00am. This length of chain normally takes a lot longer conveyancing wise as all parties have to be ready to move on the same day and it only takes one to stall and the whole thing comes crashing to the ground. So around five months would probably do it.
