Are there any restrictions for a Malaysian citizen (not residing in UK) to buy and own a property in the UK.
I am a Malaysian citizen (not residing in the UK) looking to buy and own a property in the UK. Are there any restrictions for me to do so. If not, can you direct me to a document (law/statute/decree) that says so. i would need this document to show to my bank where I am securing a loan. Thanks.

I am not aware of any restrictions for you to buy in the UK, you will have to meet the money Laundering rules with a solicitor based and registered in the UK. As for finding the documentation you require, I am unable to provide this. The best place to get the info you require will be from you Embassy who should be able to provide your lender with the doc they require.
