What's it like to live in Manningtree?

Is it an area on the up? What kind of people live around here?

  It's fine if you are raising a young family or are an older person looking to retire as the area is quite safe. However, there is nothing much to do in Manningtree itself and little in the way of shopping, nightlife etc. Ipswich or Colchester, both about a 20 minute drive, can fulfill those needs. Nice parks and woods are also a short drive away.
