Will 100% mortgages return anytime soon?

Probably! Whilst most would suggest they shouldnt, the fact is that the market for such a mortgage is huge. In my opinion a lender will try and steal this market at some point, but perhaps the market will need to really settle down first and some definate signs of controlled steady price increases will be needed.

Inevitably 100% mortgages will return to the market but I think its a little way off, I believe we will first see 100% mortgages return to existing customers followed by current homeowners and lastly first time buyers. The same scenario as we had in the early ‘90s where in actual fact we had mortgages in excess of 100% when banks allowed existing customers to transfer negative equity onto new purchases.
