Moved here when I was 20 - have brought 2 children up here and been very happy with few problems for 25 years.

No, high unemployment, shops closing, very little development.

I have lived here happily for more than 5 years...the face of the town is changing...slowly. \investment faith and effort are noticeable. good luck.

It is still very cheap to live but that is countered by low levels of employment opportunities. However, there is a lot of work & money being pumped in to the area.
