Top Things To Look For Before You Buy?

Hi Guys, Just about to buy our first home - we loved it when we had a look around however I am now thinking have you checked everything? Someone help me out please and let me know what are the top things that we should be looking for or ask before we commit to buying the house? i.e Check for damages, check area Any help would be great.   • Your mortgage surveyor will provide a report for the lenders, this report will note any issues with the property and further professional reports will be instructed if required. If you are purchasing without a mortgage I would recommend employing the services of a surveyor to carry out a Home Buyers report.

  • Key areas of the property that could lead to bigger problems: Roof, drainage, brickwork Visually inspect the roof to ensure that it is in good condition Drainage around the property should be in good condition (this minimises damp) Brickwork should be in good condition and be in a straight line (no bulges etc). This ensures structural stability although as the above has mentioned, a homebuyers report would be the best course of action.
