Looking to buy in Newcastle upon Tyne? Suggestions on areas?.

Currently renting in Jesmond but looking to buy my first home next year. Only ever lived in Jesmond so although i have a fair idea of other areas its only based on perception. Looking for somewhere with reasonably good transport links, not too expensive (house for less than £180k), feels safe and most importantly not many students!!!!! I need somewhere i can finally get a decent nights sleep without people singing in the streets at 3am! Especially interested to hear thoughts on Fenham / Arthurs Hill area (do you feel safe here and are there a lot of students? Seen a lovely house on Sidney Grove but not sure about the area) , Heaton (are there any student free zones of Heaton?), Cochrane Park, North Gosforth areas.
